Honest, caring, easy to deal with, patient, knowledgeable, understanding and having a friendly approach – that’s how real estate consultant Tommie Watts’s former clients have described him.
Tommie has had many recommendations from vendors and buyers, which have helped him gain a firm foothold on the real estate scene since his move to Albany in 2020.
Tommie said selling real estate – and helping people to buy exactly the right property – was a huge pleasure.
“It’s less about selling a product and more about providing a service to the client,” Tommie said.
“Understanding their needs and offering a bespoke solution are key.”
Having grown up in a country town in Cheshire, UK, Tommie moved to western Canada as an 18-year-old, exploring the Rocky Mountains in summer and skiing the snowfields in winter.
Back in the UK a few years later, he met his future wife Mary-Anne and they moved to her native Australia – to Toowoomba in Queensland, where they were married.
Mary-Anne, who had lived in Albany, was taken with its cooler climate and amazing natural environment. So recognising its potential as a special place to raise a family, they made the big move south-west and Tommie joined the real estate industry.
Having found his niche, Tommie is passionate about the housing market, which is evidenced by his growing reputation and client base, and in mid-2024, he became a member of the established and highly regarded team at Elders Real Estate.
At Elders, he specialises in lifestyle and residential sales, listing a diversity of properties from vacant blocks to high-end family homes.
Some of his clients are based locally, others are further afield, in other parts of Australia and even overseas, making Tommie’s good communication a vital factor in his success.
“I am always finding ways to improve my approach, provide even greater value and boost the client experience,” Tommie said.
And as he and Mary-Anne settle into parenthood with their baby daughter, Tommie strives to go above and beyond – another recurring comment from his former clients.
